G&K Services invests in the people and places where we work and our employees live. This includes giving our time and talents to provide career coaching and workforce training assistance.
Partnering with the Twin Cities RISE! job training program, G&K employees teach basic skills that help adults get hired. Our employees volunteer to prepare job seekers for success by conducting mock interviews and reviewing resumes. G&K human resources staff also assists trainees with job placement, including hiring participants in the RISE! program for positions in our plants.
We have similarly partnered with LifeWorks in Minnesota and The Newman Association in Illinois to train and hire individuals with disabilities.
As an example, employees in G&K’s Chicago facility have worked with The Newman Association to provide job coaching assistance. Through our volunteer efforts, and with funding from the G&K Foundation, we trained individuals with disabilities and found employment opportunities for them in our Chicago plant.
By offering training and education, G&K helps to sustain the workforces in our communities – which ultimately strengthens our business.
